Greenhouse Kids
Greenhouse kids is an educative coaching program for parents specifically in high conflict. The goal is is to lead parents into emotionally healthy coparenting for their children, and create an environment, much like a greenhouse, where their child is protected from acrimony and can thrive.
I designed this course because increasingly, I have witness the negative emotional effects a negative parenting has on children both in the long and short term. In this program, you will learn about the emotional effects of parental conflict on children, what is damaging and why, and also work to establish healthier habits of co-parenting to their situation.
About the program.
Greenhouse Kids is an offshoot of my extensive work with families where high conflict custody is contributing to escalating concerns for emotional abuse of children. The goal of this educative program is to teach parents about the long term negative emotional impact of parental conflict, and further, to educate them on ways to insulate their children from the acrimony. The hope is to stop harmful behaviors and create an emotional environment where kids can thrive.
This is an educative/coaching program, not parenting coordination, not mediation, not therapy. I require BOTH parents to attend sessions. Sessions are prepaid and pre-scheduled using the online scheduler, for six sessions. Sessions will not be held, but will be charged, if one parent fails to show. Further, I will not take private calls from either parent before or during the process to prevent triangulation.
Once scheduled you will receive information from my assistant on preparing for your session, and a contract of rules to abide by during each session. If parents desire, coaching can continue after completion of the course. In the final sessions, we will adapt what has been learned to their particular circumstances and concerns.
I will require parents to sign a release for me to speak with attorneys, therapists and judges. Consultation with other professionals will be prepaid at $185.00 per hour, and court testimony prepaid as a one day retainer at $275.00 per hour. I am fully vaccinated for COVID, and am seeing parents in person who are also vaccinated. We will still remain masked.
Zoom teaching will only be done if a parent is unvaccinated. Parents will be seen together, unless there is an active restraining order. Co-parents are urged to attend, as we do have conference space.
About Me.
I am a professional who has spent the last 30 years doing evaluation of children for abuse and neglect issues.
In the last 10 years, I have seen an explosion of cases where a parent’s inability to insulate a child from acrimony has resulted in a negative emotional outcome for the child. I have seen this go so far as judges removing children from both homes.
I wanted to design a program to mitigate that, and teach parents not only how to co-parent, but, more importantly, why.
Scheduling & Fees
Fees are $185.00 per one hour session, for a prepaid total of $1,110 to reserve 6 weekly sessions. A no-show will NOT be refunded as parents are committing to appointment slots. I am happy to speak with attorneys as needed, but parents must prepay for time spent consulting with attorneys at the same hourly rate of $185.
If I am called to court to provide testimony, the attorney who issues the subpoena will prepay a retainer in advance for my consult and testimony. Expert fees are billed at $275 an hour.
